Just finished a breakfast salad with the latest delivery from Italy. Mixed greens, spinach, touch of balsamic, couple tablespoons of the Brunetti, and finished each bite with goat cheese on rice cracker. OMG. Had to order another set.
As an experienced home chef, I know the huge difference quality ingredients can make to any recipe, and my culinary enjoyment is also benefiting from the “taste explosion” of these olive oils. I made eggs benedict and used one of the olive oils to pan-toast the bread…phenomenal! I also made T. J.’s basic balsamic vinaigrette. Wow…flavorful oil makes such a difference!
Every time a shipment arrives, it is a personal holiday! I do tastings with friends and family every time so we can all enjoy them and know what excellent, fresh olive oil really is. I love that people get to learn that amazing olive oil comes from so many places in the world too.

I can tell you that the difference in “fresh pressed” as compared to everything else is this:
1) The smell. As soon as you unscrew the cap, you can actually smell olives
2) The color. The color is rich and creamy
3) The feel. When you toss veggies with olive oil, you can feel the richness on your hands
4) The taste. There’s no comparison. It’s not just for dipping, you can tell the difference in the cooking. I now use “fresh pressed” to cook eggs instead of butter. It’s wonderful.I’ve only had my first shipment but can’t wait for the next one.
I got my first shipment…The flavor is out of this world. It’s almost like sipping a fine whiskey.

I simply LOVE LOVE LOVE these shipments. I have a collection of recipes (mostly Italian) that use olive oil…and HANDS-DOWN, these oils have elevated them beyond comparison. This week: I oven-roasted a variety of grape/small tomatoes and smashed garlic cloves. Broke the tomatoes up with extra olive oil, and served it on ciabatta bread. I will use the leftover emulsion in pasta later this week.

Received my first delivery of oils today and made all three the center of dinner. I decided a simple pasta with fresh tomato, Maldon salt, and freshly grated Malabar black pepper, and a sprinkling of fresh snipped summer savory leaves from my kitchen garden would provide a suitable canvas to showcase the different characteristics of the oils. Perfect choice. They are all delicious, maybe equally so by virtue of their differences. I can’t pick a favorite yet. I’m thrilled I joined the club, so far the experience is extraordinary.
These oils are amazing! Like a fine wine. Each has its own distinctive taste. When I receive mine I can’t wait to open one and pour a little on a teaspoon to savor. Customer service is fantastic too!
Oh. My. Goodness. Sometimes the simplest preparation is the best. I was dining solo at home while my husband and son were at their activities. I needed “comfort food.” My “go-to” is always pasta. Not being in the mood to make a fancy dish, I simply cooked linguine, then whipped up the “sauce” of Picual “bold” olive oil, fresh minced garlic, Italian seasoning, “sweet heat” pepper from Flat Iron Pepper, and freshly ground salt and pepper. A quick toss, and dinner was DONE. The Picual was absolutely amazing in this simple, yet satisfying dish. I cannot wait till our June shipment arrives—I’m just about out of our three olive oils from this spring. I will NEVER, EVER go back to “store-bought” EVOO again! Hi Folks: There was a Facebook post asking if you could have fresh pressed olive oil only one way, what would it be? I have to say in a tablespoon straight from the bottle. This is still my favorite way to enjoy our oil. Also, I was concerned about the quality during the travel restrictions due to TJ, et al, being “here” and not “there.” However, when I read about the oils, I realized that Duccio Morozzo, Paco Vaño, and others are really our friends and care just as much about making our oils special. I favour the stronger oils, but the selections this year have been superb, and I feel like part of a larger family and I trust our friends overseas. It’s a great feeling.

I just wanted to share again how much I have enjoyed being a part of the club. I have given 3 friends a taste of your product and so far, 2 have joined. I have been a true connoisseur of EVOO for almost 10 years. As an Italian American, I’m an ardent student of the oil and faithfully consume on average a liter of it every 3 weeks. I’m well aware of the poor quality of most retail stores’ EVOO and always seek oils direct from the source. I’ve tasted fresh excellent EVOO direct from olive farms in Italy, Greece, and CA, among others. However, your oils are in an entirely different league altogether—easily the best and freshest oils I’ve ever encountered. Grazie and Bravissimo!

WOW. Just got my introductory bottle – Cladium. I have already joined the club and am looking forward to trying the trio that will be sent, but I am unable to imagine an olive oil as good as the Cladium. Can additional bottles be ordered? All my meals are centered around this oil. Never, never knew olive oil could be this good. Better than wine!!!! Really.
TJ, I just want to let you know I just received my bottle. I opened it and took a spoonful right away even though it’s only 8:30 in the morning, but I didn’t care, I had to taste it. I was never a big fan of olive oils until I opened my first club bottle, the Cladium from the Spring selection, and smelled the freshness of this EVOO. Once I tasted it, I couldn’t get enough and was putting it on everything. I dreamed about it all night and started eating it by the spoonful first thing in the morning. I’ve never had such a delicious olive oil. Can’t wait to see what next quarter brings.
Hello! I just got my first bottle within the past week or so, and my wife immediately set up a double-blind taste test for me (using numbers hidden under each plate to identify which was which). She bakes fresh artisanal breads whenever she has a snow day (she’s a teacher), and we wanted to see how four different olive oils might compete against one another by dipping the fresh-baked bread in each of the four oils. These oils were all labeled as EVOO, and all were well within their “consume by” dates. The four were a big ol’ jug from Costco, Bragg (Greece), Thrive (Italy), and the Pruneti (Tuscan blend), from the Fresh-Pressed Olive Oil Club. I was actually blindfolded, so I couldn’t even see what difference there might be in color, consistency, etc. We added nothing, not even salt, to the oils or the bread before tasting.
I expected to not really be able to tell much difference, as I’m no connoisseur, and also because I’ve heard that even experts perform miserably on double-blind taste tests, rarely able to distinguish super-gourmet from run-of-the-mill, whether for wine, olive oil, or anything else. The first one I tried was very good, the second was a bit more bland but still good, and the third indistinguishable from the second. Then the fourth one blew my mind with how much better it was than all of the others, and in fact better than any I’ve ever tasted—and I’ve lived in Spain and traveled extensively in olive-growing regions in Italy. We had basically expected a 3-way tie for first between Bragg, Thrive, and the Fresh-Pressed oil, with the Costco far behind, but instead we had one oil far ahead, with the other three far behind.
Well, it turned out that the stellar one was in fact the Pruneti, the Bragg placed a distant second, and quite surprisingly, Thrive was indistinguishable from the Costco. So, very nicely done—we’re excited to be new club members, and look forward to the next shipment!
The Italian oils you recently sent us are our second delivery from you. We’ll be loyal members ever onward! I thank you especially for the Pressing Report: you write humanly and humanely. I am a newbie to your club, just having gotten the Australian and the Italian offerings from this year, and I must say, for anyone on the fence about why they should enroll, or if it’s worth it—it’s really simple: if you care about the taste of your food, GET ENROLLED!!! There is absolutely NO comparison with ANY store-bought olive oils. You can TASTE and SMELL immediately the difference!! I had both my daughters over for Christmas, and we did a “taste test” and we all loved all three of the Italian oils you sent! We could all tell the difference! My brother is a chef, and I can’t wait to have him try them out; I know he will love them! I have updated my adored aunt’s advice for the 20-teens. “Go out and join the Fresh-Pressed Olive Oil Club!” With the rent for next month not yet in sight, I have NO business enjoying a dinner that brings tears to my eyes. But that is what you did for me! It’s just tomato and roasted red pepper soup from Pacific, with a little homemade chicken stock, some inexpensive red wine, and a weensie bit of heavy cream. But when I drizzled the Nullamunjie all over the top, OMG!!!! I’m SERIOUS … OHHH EMMM GEEE.

I received my sample bottle yesterday. I opened it up, read the included information, and then began to feel the beginnings of buyer’s remorse. Had I just believed the hype when I signed up? I had decided to take better care of myself and part of that was by eating better. When I got your email I read it through and signed up. Since I already had had a disappointing day, I didn’t open the bottle.
This morning I decided to taste it since maybe I might make eggs for breakfast. I dab a little on my finger, tasted it, and was blown away. It really tasted a million times better than any olive oil I had ever tasted! Then I decided to taste the oil I already had in my pantry. You guys were right! It tasted rotten to me! My first impulse was to throw it away, but then I decided to make a body scrub with it since I did pay good money for it. I’ve got a feeling that I am going to be a member for a long, long time!
Received my free bottle yesterday! I immediately got out my “name brand” olive oils from the grocery store to do a mini tasting. WHAT AN AMAZING DIFFERENCE, both in the nose as well as the mouthfeel and taste!
My son, who is 23, was here, and I just had to have him sniff and taste, too. At first he was an unbeliever and didn’t want to, but when he tasted it, he quickly became a believer! After explaining the program to him, he asked me how much it was. I was reluctant to tell him, imagining he would deride me for the “extravagance.” But once I told him, he said, “That’s not bad, Mom, because you’re getting a superior quality product.” 😀
Oh! One other thing—I was very much impressed with the brochure containing the history, tasting notes, food pairings, and recipes! A beautiful, delightful addition to the overall experience!
This morning, I could barely wait to get up and make scrambled eggs, drizzled with 100% EVOO and garnished with fresh basil! Delish! Like no other eggs I’ve had before— simply flooded my palate with flavor!
I’m so sad…I just used the very last drop of my bottle of Finca Galvez Picual oil sent several months ago. I’d love another bottle or 2 if you have any extra stock! This oil is perfect with a summer salad of fresh herbs and baby greens from the garden. Addictive even.
I joined because of Dave Asprey’s recommendation (“Bulletproof” guy) and at first didn’t have any idea what I was going to do with all that oil. Having little exposure to good olive oil, I must confess I just didn’t get the EVOO craze. Store-bought oil didn’t smell or taste good to me, and that’s all I’d ever really experienced.
So I decided to enroll because Dave is a compelling guy and I trust him. I figured I’d try it and cancel my subscription in a few months. But over time, as I read your quarterly booklet (love it!!) and tasted the different oils, I began to feel so lucky and looked forward to finding recipes just for the oils. I’ve given bottles as gifts (including a copy of your write-up so the receiver knows just how special that bottle is!) to rave reviews.
I’ve even taken to using the wonderful oils on my skin—the color and aroma are an amazing lift and olive oil is second to none as a moisturizer! Total luxury. I hope you are not insulted by this!

I have been a lucky club member for several years. I feel so fortunate to receive these wonderful oils. I live in a geographically remote location (the middle of the Pacific) so I very much appreciate the freshness and expedient delivery of the olive oils.
My all-time favorite so far has been the single-variety Cobrançosa from Casa de Santo Amaro in Portugal. I love the Picuals! Finca Galvez from Spain. Picual by Alajandro Sanz of Spain. I also loved Petralia from TerraMater in Chile. This new Australian Picual by Leandro Ravetti was the first bottle I opened, and it is added to my favorite list.

Dear T.J.—My family prefers your Fresh-Pressed Olive Oil over all others, because in addition to the full and lively flavors, I know that I’m using something that was harvested this season and is indeed still fresh! Before using this oil, I didn’t know that the olive oil on the store shelves is typically from prior years’ harvests and is therefore most likely rancid…yuck! We have been members for a year now and have thoroughly enjoyed the superb varieties of oils we have been sent. At first I thought we had too much oil with these deliveries, but how wrong I was, as my family begged us to share some and they quickly were consumed with joy. We are Italian Americans and olive oil has been a part of our diets all our lives. To find such great-tasting oils is a pleasure. I know that harvest season will be approaching in Italy, and we are looking forward to see what the Club brings us from the “Old Country.”
Even if you buy the most expensive olive oils in the best stores in Manhattan, you can’t get your hands on olive oil of this quality!
I must tell you that since I first started using your olive oil, I get excited like a child at Christmas time every quarter, waiting for the arrival of my new shipment. It is delicious. I use it for most everything I cook, including eggs. My favorite side— escarole sauteed in your olive oil and chopped garlic. (I call that “Italian collard greens”).
Hi — Just a short note to let you know how much I love the olive oils you are choosing and sending. They are absolutely delicious and I refuse to share them other than for a taste. I use them every day in my cooking and with a variety of foods. I never knew that olive oil had a taste or that it should have flavor. Every time I taste they remind me of new-mown hay or what a fat honey-filled clover blossom tastes like.
The oil arrived yesterday and I opened it and used it on my salad. Words cannot describe. I am delighted and look forward to receiving more oil in the future. Thank you for sourcing this out and making it available.

First let me say that your olive oil is one of the best things that has happened to us in the last ten years. We are SO happy with this membership—the olive oil is top quality and we enjoy the recipes and descriptions of how our oil came to be and from whence it came. One of our favorite things to do is enlighten our friends. Without fail, they are as astounded as we were to realize that they had never before tasted the good stuff! (I know you have at least two other memberships from these private tastings.)
There are five large-ish humans in our household and all are now olive-oil snobs. We run out between shipments. I would like to add an additional membership to our same address… but of the smaller bottles. That way we never run out… and if there is extra, we have the perfect hostess gift (and can continue spreading the good word.)
I just want to tell you how blown away I am by your olive oils…I have never tasted anything like these, and I have traveled extensively around the Mediterranean. Your newsletter is wonderful!
You, and the Band Of Merry Tasters, have spoiled me on olive oil FOREVER! I can no longer stomach the bulk cans I used to buy. I take spoonfuls of straight oil as a treat! It is so healthy and delicious, I go through my order in a fraction of the time before the next installment. You have ruined me! While I prefer the stronger varieties, the milder ones are still better than anything I’ve had before. Like fresh maple syrup, fresh olive oil nourishes the whole being. Many thanks (you rascal!)
I just had a tasting session of the new olive oils with my daughter. We were so thoroughly and utterly delighted by the oils—I compared them with the two bottles I had bought at a very upscale restaurant here that specializes in olive oil—no comparison. I have never ever tasted olive oils as fabulous as the ones you send. So fresh! Grassy! Alive! Full of nuances of flavors! I am so so so happy I joined! Love you!

I can’t begin to describe how much I love being a member of the Olive Oil Hunter’s Club. My husband and I are vegetarians and salads are a staple part of our lives. These incredibly flavorful and delicious olive oils are a mainstay in our meals. My father had
an olive ranch in Northern California when I was a child, so the taste of real olive oil, tasting like real olives, is a part of my DNA. Over the years I have despaired because olive oils have become no more than the equivalent of barely digestible engine oil.
When the first batch of olive oil arrived, I seriously almost wept. No olive oil sold in stores these days anywhere—and I mean ANYWHERE—can compare in flavor or aroma as these small-ranch pure olive oils. We so look forward to when our oil shipment arrives. We set it up to taste-test, and then as I prepare dinner, my husband reads to me the description and background information the Olive Oil Hunter writes for each olive oil that he offers, so we know exactly what we’re getting, from where, and by whom. This olive oil subscription is the best thing I’ve discovered in a long, long time! I love you, Olive Oil Hunter!
My husband and I decided to be daring and just now tried the bold selection on vanilla ice cream for dessert. Who would have “thunk” it! We’re astonished—it’s so good! I think it will be a new comfort food in our house. A beautiful surprise!
I just want to let you know how awesome the olive oil is that I received! One taste and I literally felt like I could just stand there and sip it straight from the bottle! I put it over my fresh cantaloupe sprinkled with a little sea salt and WOW! That might not seem like it would taste very good but it is delicious. It tastes delicious on anything! I’m so glad to be a club member and I’m looking forward to the next bottle!

I tried the first bottle you sent to me and I love it. It has a flavor that reminds me of my childhood some 70 years ago. My grandmother and mother used it all the time from the Italian store that they shopped at. I can hardly wait until the [next] quarter comes, by then I would have finished the gallon of olive oil we have in the house now. Again, thank you.
P.S. My grandson was pouring it on bread and couldn’t get enough. He is 15 and he really noticed the difference.

I wanted to thank you so much for the olive oil. I got to try it tonight on some angel hair pasta. The taste (every bite) reminds me of running through the fields right after they’ve been cut. It has a nice grassy taste to it. I enjoyed it very much! I look forward to my next shipment with great anticipation.
